Most people drift through life following rules they never questioned. Here's why breaking the "good citizen" mold might be the best decision you ever make.
I must confess to not ever being a person who conforms - from being the only person in our crowd that played the violin, to jumping off the corporate ladder at 23...
And whilst Davina and I have no doubts about moving to Thailand, your last sentence says it all for me.
"Because at the end of your life, you won’t regret the risks you took. You’ll regret the ones you didn’t". We can't wait..
It’s actually interesting because I would assume that non conforming when you were 23 years old was probably harder than it is now? Especially for young women? And I could be completely wrong by the way, so please correct me 🙏
What you are both doing is awesome! Hope we get to meet in Thailand 😃
Great post! I am 60...in the last 5 years I lost an ex-husband who was my friend, lost a father, and lost my soulmate of 20 years. Kids are grown. I was on wash-rinse-repeat at home alone. I hated it. I am now off "auto pilot" and seeing the world and putting me first. I thought it would be letting other people in my life down, but they go on as usual while I am growing behind the scenes. Thanks for re-affirming what I am living.
That’s wonderful to read thank you so much for sharing. I’m sorry you had to go through all that for the past 5 years 😔
I’m very happy that you took the first and most important step, the hardest one: you started!
“but they go on as usual” > This is a very important piece here that we often forget… people move on with their lives and carry on as usual, whatever we do… so we might as well live the life we really want!

I don't know if you're wrong or not - but what I do know is that my parents gave me the confidence to be me. And I've always been awkward - lol
