Every month, I’ll share a more personal look at what’s been going on: where we’ve been, what I’ve been working on, and a few things I’ve discovered or enjoyed along the way. ✨

This isn’t just a travel diary or work recap, it’s a chance to go deeper into the real-life moments behind the posts. Sometimes there are wins, sometimes challenges, but I always try to share something honest, useful, or thought-provoking from what I’ve experienced.

I’ll also include a few of my favorites from the month: books, podcasts, articles, or tools that stood out and might inspire you too.

This post is just for paid subscribers, thank you so much for your support! 💛

I’m keeping these monthly updates behind the paywall for two reasons. First, they’re a lot more personal, it’s a real look into my life, and having it just for paid subscribers makes it feel a bit more protected and private. Second, these take me quite a bit of time to put together. I want them to be complete, thoughtful, and fun, with stories, photos, and things I’ve enjoyed throughout the month. Your support helps me make the time to create something meaningful here. 🙏🏼

October 1st to October 15th: Malaysia 🇲🇾

I left you in my September post in Malacca, and that’s where we pick it up here. Those next 15 days in Malacca looked like the first few ones I described at the end of the previous Life Behind The Posts:

  • Wake up between 9am and 10am.

  • 1 hour at the gym.

  • 1 hour by the pool.

  • Go get lunch.

  • Work 4 hours in the afternoon.

  • Break + dinner.

  • Work or relax until midnight (I usually have my calls at night because most of my clients are US-based).

Rinse and repeat 🤣

This is what slow travel can be like. It doesn’t have to be crazy, it doesn’t have to be adventurous. It can be normal life… abroad.

What’s nice about my life here is that I can have such a good quality of life. Having a gym and a swimming pool in the building makes such a huge difference. I can tell you that I would NEVER go to the gym if it wasn’t in the building. But here, I go 6 days a week! Same for the pool.

Also, it’s so nice not to have to deal with the usual house chores. A comment from

Kimberly Anne
a few days ago reminded me of that:

The biggest issue I run into is fitting in cooking, warming dishes, the dog, laundry, tidying, and cleaning every single day. 😳 That’s a full-time job in itself.

In Asia, we don’t go grocery shopping (just to buy milk or fruits), we barely cook, we don’t usually clean our accommodations… we can afford to pay for all this and reclaim so many hours each week.

After getting a taste of this… it’s hard to go back (a place with a gym, a pool, with weekly cleaning + eating out daily would cost an exorbitant amount of money in our home countries).

What else can I say? We enjoyed some delicious food. We did some health checkups (medical care is great there).

📍 Some delicious food 😋
